(水石连州NO.1504) Description: In 1905, five people were killed in a conflict between local people and the missionaries at Lien Chau 連州. Victims included medical missionary Doctor Machle's wife and daughter. It was one of the most serious crimes targeted at missionaries in the late Qing 清 (1644-1911) period. Officers from the local government and the U.S. consulate in Canton 廣州 investigated the event.
